TL;DR: AUTOart's 1:18 diecast Porsche 928, in blue, reproduces the front-engine V8 grand tourer Porsche developed as a would-be 911 successor. Doors, hood and trunk open. The 928 broke from Porsche convention entirely: a water-cooled V8 up front instead of a rear-mounted air-cooled six, wrapped in pop-up headlight styling unlike anything else in the lineup at the time.

Construction and Opening Features on the 928

AUTOart's zinc-alloy diecast gives the 928 genuine weight, and the blue paint reads smooth and even across the car's long, wedge-shaped hood. Doors, hood and trunk all open, exposing the transaxle-equipped V8 layout that defined the 928's unusual front-mid-engine balance and a cabin styled with 1970s-era Porsche instrumentation quite different from a contemporary 911's. Panel gaps along the pop-up headlight housings and the wraparound bumper integration are tight, a genuine test of casting precision given how blended this body's surfacing runs compared to a more angular contemporary.
